Primate Postcranial functional morphology

Current research in the Rector Paleoecology Lab involves understanding the relationship between postcranial morphology and substrate use in living African and Asian monkeys to reconstruct behavior in extinct species. We are working primarily on 3D geometric morphometric analyses of joint surfaces and elements of the forelimb, and with fossil primates from the Afar Region, Ethiopia.
